Okay so Israel denies that they have nuclear weapons but at the same time threatens the whole world with nuclear annihilation as the user above claimed. How does that work?

You really have some learning to do about the history of Iran. Good luck!
People get very emotional when discussing Israel and can’t stay with the facts.
If you read the link you’ve provided you’ll see that it’s a last resort doctrine meant to deter neighboring countries from invading. Pretty much in line with how most western (nuclear) nations would use their nuclear arsenal.
If I’ve learned one thing it’s that it’s absolutely impossible to have productive discussions on geopolitics on Lemmy. People are insanely uninformed but at the same time will not move an inch from their preconceived opinions.
The fact that Israel is a warmongering country guilty of a genocide but at the same is no real nuclear threat in the region whereas Iran would be is something that exceeds the binary thinking of people here.
Yes, but would things have gotten this far with a more reasonable information policy? I’d argue Trump would not have gotten elected (again).
It always is bro.
No, I will continue dismissing you as having no idea of what you’re talking about because that’s clear to anyone who’s even half educated about aviation.
10+ years is firmly in the territory of where the condition of an airplane depends on the quality of airline maintenance. Now, it could of course still be a catastrophic problem (or a sequence of problems) that has been there since Boeing built the plane and didn’t make itself known in the millions of flights conducted on the 1200+ 787s flying for almost 15 years now… we’ll have to wait and see. CVR and FDR should give clear answers.
The whole thing is just really weird. Something like that should not be possible, even on a Boeing plane.
The 787 has backup power for black boxes while the 737 uses an outdated design that does not, so there shouldn’t be missing data hopefully.
Listen man, I personally go out of my way to not fly on Boeing planes, but we have no idea what happened to the Air India flight. And frankly, what we know about QC problems with 787 airframes is nowhere close to giving you an immediate double engine rollback right after rotation.
Of course, as always on Lemmy, people who know very little about a topic will accuse those with more nuanced opinions of being paid off because they’re not validating their simple world views. It’s like discussing people in a crack house.
The real reason is that airlines don’t want a monopoly where there’s only one relevant manufacturer that can dictate airframe prices to them. That’s why you will see almost every airline trying to at least somewhat balance the scales between Airbus and Boeing.
Iran is literally the topic of this thread. Are you mentally handicapped?
Why are you idiots even putting me in the position of defending Boeing lmao. Yes I’m aware of all the problems the Dreamliner had, alleged and in practical use. But none of them can explain what happened to the Air India flight.
The problems Barnett brought to attention don’t give you a double engine rollback immediately after rotation.
They have by far the strongest and most advanced airforce in the Middle East. Nobody else there is flying F35s
Why would I? I don’t support the Israeli government at all and it’s no question they’re guilty of a genocide.
Magical thinking won’t save us.
Let’s see what the black boxes give us. We should have the first information soon. I’m not going to categorically defend Boeing (again, I am not flying on their planes myself) but right now we just have no information on what caused the likely dual engine rollback.
This is what American Christianity is.
