Stop by the news megathread sometime and see/ask for yourself. You probably won’t agree with a lot of stuff (and even that’s partly cause there’s layers of irony caked onto the walls), but it’s not quite as bad as you think.
The narrative changed about 10 years ago to “well it’s happening, but humans can’t do anything about it, it’s a natural process”. No real difference, but it puts a bit more smoke and mirrors up for the rubes who believe that sort of thing since it sounds a bit less wrong.

Id take it a step farther and say that I wouldnt address the “socialistness” of an institution as a binary, but as a spectrum of characteristics (of which the PRC/CPC has many, but is lacking others)
