Damn, what a wasted opportunity! Thanks for helping out kind stranger 😁

That’s definitely not going to happen. One of the few things Windows is doing right is backwards compatibility. Have 30 year old exe? It usually just runs fine. In my experience a lot of business logic relies on this compatibility. It would be stupid from a business standpoint to break this compatibility. It would upset a lot of paying customers.
But wait a second. I’m speaking about Microsoft. All we wanted was a Windows 7 with a modernized GUI. And we got Windows 10 with Cortana, multiple Control panels, redundant settings that contradicted each other. We got Windows 11 with ads everywhere, Copilot, enforced MS accounts and so on.
It would perfectly make sense to switch to Linux. They could fire a lot of devs. I’m sure they would save a lot of money for a couple of seconds.
Obviously they don’t give a shit about customers, so this sounds like a normal thing Microsoft could do for short term gains.
Without using fancy components: Just simply adding a 6.2 and a 2400 Ohm resistor in parallel already gives you 6.18402 Ohm ⚡️
I knew I was going to find a comment about the Model M!
I use the modern incarnation made by Unicomp since 2019. Best Keyboard I ever had and probably my main keyboard for the rest of my life. It’s really that good! Minimal wear on the buttons after 6 years (I’m a developer so the keyboard gets used once in a while 😉)
One thing I wanted to mention: Although I like the clicky sound, it is quite loud. It was loud enough that I woke up my little baby girl when working at night. So I had to silence it or buy another keyboard 😔 I ended up with fiddling dental floss inside of every single spring and used o rings to dampen the noise it makes when you hit the buttons hard and they bottom out. I’d say you get 80-90% of the tactility with 30% of the noise. Perfect combo in my opinion.
Underrated comment!
I heard they are so good that they point it out in announcements when a delay was caused by foreign trains (Looking at you Deutsche Bahn)
Is C++ the first enemy that managed to win against one punch man?
Fuuuck. A couple of months ago your theory would make me LOL. Right now it makes perfect sense. What a time to be alive…
After already being the worlds biggest asshole for not wearing a suit, he may as well ask for securities. For the millionth time. Although that’s only 2% of the deal and he doesn’t have the cards. But he has raw earth. I think I’ve said enough, except thank you.

Watching zelensky die inside while contributing to this shitshow was hard. I can’t imagine how bad that poor guy must have felt. And I’m sure he’s already seen a lot of bad things.
I agree. It’s totally simple and people overcomplicate.
BTW one nice thing about German is, that you can even use the same logic for Boolean operators: The AND operator ∧ is called UND being the shorter word (when you put the name at the top). The OR operator ∨ is called ODER being the longer word.
You can use the same logic in English if you Place AND/OR at the bottom instead 😁
May I name this piece of art? From now on let’s call it:
„The sourcecode“
It reminds me of the spaghetti code I create at work 😁
Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet, treu ihr sein für alle Tage?
Du hast mich gefragt
How about making it mandatory to insure all employees including CEOs in the same insurance company but a group of paying customers decide what is getting paid and what not 😉
You have experienced the pinnacle of Windows (we could probably also add Windows 7 to this). Do yourself a favor and never touch a Windows 10 and especially Windows 11 machine. It’s unimaginable how Microsoft managed to break everything that was working and how clever they are in terms of marketing to sell you stuff you don’t need.
They made me finally switch to Linux because my paid 365 subscription offered me to try the new outlook because Windows Mail was to be discontinued in future. I activated the test and the fun began: Only one of seven accounts was imported into outlook. Of course it was the only Microsoft account (Outlook). All other Accounts were ignored. I thought „Ok migration didn’t work, I’ll do it later manually“ I had a new email. I clicked on it. Edge opened although Firefox was my standard browser. It took me a couple of seconds to realize that I was clickbaited into opening an advertisement by one of the biggest companies on this planet.
This made me immediately stop my work and install Linux Mint. I’m not going back any time soon.
For job related reasons I have to use a lot of VMs. Unfortunately most of them are Windows 10. I created a naked installation years ago and basically use this as the base for individual development VMs. One of these annoyed me for days to make an update. All I could click was „remind me in one hour“ or update immediately. So I chose the one hour a lot of times. I finally let it update. Now my (Windows default!) task bar is transparent and also the whole windows menu. A colleague using the same VM with the latest updates (without changes to installed software) has no issues.
While it is sometimes annoying and you are limited in terms of mods on your vehicles, I must admit I’m really happy that we have the TÜV in Germany when I see stuff like this.
I’m sure this car would not survive a week here before being banned from traffic. And I’m sure the driver would also lose his license.
Do you have resources that teach you the basics of this deprogramming in a pragmatic, fact based way without too much nonsense?
