They don’t want to tax the ultra rich, because they think they can one day also be, but in reality they are just being screwed over
PieFed is a lot like lemmy, but built in Python with a few key features that make a big difference, most notably
Also the onboarding is a use UX improvement, and therefore I think it will gain more traction than Lemmy in the long run.
It federates with lemmy instances, so you can see all the same content.
Yea same, PieFed has so many features that Lemmy simply doesn’t. I prefer it so much that I just use it in the browser on mobile, till a good mobile app is available.
In English we don’7 use 7ha7 Le77er anymore.
I7 jus7 makes reading hard for everyone.
You can rotate throwaway accounts and/or use barcodes as a username

@EllaSpiggins@lemm.ee / sunaurus@lemm.ee could you please delete my lemm.ee account and it’s content.
I’m banned and can’t login to do so myself, I’ve sent a message to you but I’m not sure if you can see it, so I’m posting here.
Wikipedia is pretty reliable. It’s not perfect but for most things it does the job, and is up to date.
For most things is much quicker to just use the Internet
I’m keen to see this grow.
A feature I’d really like to see is to allow people to use their own email domains, else they are somewhat vendor locked
Get disposable virtual credit cards.
I just delete my credit card right after I sign up, and then I don’t have to remember anything.
It’s also much easier to unsubscribe you use a new card for each merchant, and if you no longer want to use amazon just delere the card. No need to go jump through 10x hoops to cancel
I hope to see people like Lewis Rossmann erc. Start posting there
Using a barcode username is nice for being anonymous

I had a look at voyager, and it’s UX is perfect for new users. It would be great to get the web to that point https://photon.lemmy.world seems quite good, maybe that should be default.
Yes it does depend on the front end.
But that’s the thing its not the default front end.
Most users will give up before discovering Photon.
The default experience should be very smooth and require little to no effort and thinking. Like what everyone has gotten used to
This will keep happening until Lemmy etc. Have good UX
For the vast majority of users the UX just sucks for most of the fediverse
We need to push for or fund better UX
What app do you use?
