No thanks. Stay in your shithole country and fix it if you want. The last thing we want is that for the infection that has already taken hold via ACT and National to spread faster and further.

The Americans who moved to NZ before COVID and haven’t visited the US in awhile, may not appreciate how much prices have gone up there.

Prices in NZ have gone up, but in % terms a lot of other countries prices have gone up more %wise.

Other countries prices started lower then NZ prices but the pricing is now closer then it ever has been.

Although I would prefer if everyone’s prices went down rather then all of us paying a Kings Ransom for groceries.

Not sure the point of your comment. The article uses that word, or ither forms of it a bunch, they are not shying away from it. An immigrant is someone who moves TO a country. An emmigrant is someone who moves FROM a country. These are both permanent moves (or intended to be). An expat is someone who LIVES in another country. Formally it means temporarily but I’ve seen it colloquially used for both temp and permanent.

So “US expats in New Zealand” is precise and inclusive whereas “immigrant” means people from any country who moved permanently. Imprecise and non inclusive.
