Wow what happened with Albon’s car. Engine cover just disintegrated.
Flaw, previous damage or incorrectly fastened, would be my guess.
Cannot discount Verstappen. He somehow manages to put in these incredible quali laps. McLaren dropped the ball there.
The C6 is quite a puzzling tire. Russel gets a great lap on the medium again.
C5 and C6 being so close over a single lap creates some interesting tyre choices, since C5 is also a race tyre, but C6 isn’t really viable. If the race is a 2-stop, using mediums in quali could compromise you somewhat.
I’m keeping Le Mans open on 2nd screen to make sure LMP2s aren’t committing too many war crimes.
