Would it be realistic to use licence plate readers that cities have (like Flock) to track ICE activity? Most of the time local police are at the scene of these events, even though they should not be helping in any way (in a santuary state). The police could collect the plate number of all the ice vehicles, and put them into a hotlist.
Any time one drives past a plate reader, it will post it publcly and maybe send an alert to anyone who opts in.
How feasable would this be?
You could probably deobfuscate their ad IDs on googles network to obtain real time tracking data for free.

I am thinking more cities doing this, they’re the ones that own the cameras. Sure, some city councils love Trump, many others are probably scared of doing anything. But there must be some that are willing to resist.

According to my husband. If one could get the raw data. It would be trivial. One could run it all on a single raspberry pi if one did some engineering.
It should be pretty easy to pick out federal government plates, but I’m not unconvinced that they use rental cars to do the kidnapping.

I don’t think your assumptions about police are valid. In my state, police are not allowed to assist federal officials when no state crime is being investigated. While it is targeted at immigration, it has the plausible deniability of being general and a veneer of non-interference and fiscal responsibility. Sanctuary doesn’t mean police will act to help the victims, just that they’re not allowed to help the thugs
That’s what I mean. Sometimes they are there observing the situation from a distance, or just driving by, not doing anything. What I ask is if the city council (or whoever is in charge) could tell the police to document the plate numbers of all the vehicles.
People may be able to information via FOIA requests. It would likely take months.
