So if Canada is benefiting from trade with the US in his mind it must be at America’s expense. This is what you need to keep foremost in your mind. There is no conceivable reality in which the US conquers (yes conquers, they can call it annexation all they want but at the end of the day Trump wants a conquest to his name) Canada and gives any semblance of voting or personal rights to Canadians. Hell, even if Canada was somehow persuaded into voluntarily joining the US, this regime would never, ever honour any kind of arrangement that gave Canadians a fair deal. They are fascist bullies, as close to actual evil as we’ve seen in North America in a very long time, and they have no interest in any sort of fair bargain.

I’m very much for a highly limited form of capitalism (which at it’s core isn’t bad, it’s the freedom to freely trade) with loads of laws in place to limit the size of it (no company larger than 1000 employees, no company larger than networth of 50 million, no personal net worth larger than 10 million, that sort of stuff) and loads of taxes to apply those laws (no taxes for the poor, richest pay up to 100% income after certain level, etc, to always make sure nobody gets too rich, too powerful
