Hmm, be careful, the Epoch Times is run by Falun gong, a religious movement which promotes some crazy crazy stuff. They spread a lot of misinformation. They used to be one of the only print papers left in a conservative city I lived in, and they’d run eye popping headlines occasionally.
oh good point, updated the link to point to the actual study
Man, paywall is such a pain
Here’s the paper if thats what you’re referencing: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10937404.2023.2213903?scroll=top&needAccess=true&role=tab&aria-labelledby=full-article
The purpose of this study was to determine the toxicological and pharmacokinetic properties of sucralose-6-acetate, a structural analog of the artificial sweetener sucralose. Sucralose-6-acetate is an intermediate and impurity in the manufacture of sucralose, and recent commercial sucralose samples were found to contain up to 0.67% sucralose-6-acetate
So it’s not the actual sweetener in use, but an impurity related to manufacturing
Yes, but it’s not removed, so it’s still in the package with the sweet stuff.
