You had a bunch of sex with a guy you half like, spent 9 months like a sumo wrestler, then passed a melon from your body through a hole that originally fit a tennis ball and now you have to spend the next ten years spending a fortune raising a human being, then another decade spending an even larger fortune to raise them to become an adult … here’s a $50 medal for your effort.

I’m not saying it couldn’t happen concurrently, but probably consecutively.

With the wonders of life-saving vaccines for all, why should mothers need to have so many children to ensure at least a couple lived to adulthood? Oh…

Realistically it’s probably neither perfectly concurrently nor consecutively. Concurrently is unlikely but possible, but no woman is fertile long enough to fully raise 6 children fully consecutively. Heck, no woman lives long enough to do that. That’s 120 years not counting pregnancy.

There were three ranks: bronze – 4 children, silver – 6 children, and gold – 8 children. Worth to mention that all the babies had to be born alive.
