In the US at least, you can buy a complete single wide and have it shipped to your location for well under $50k. Building them on site, on footings, seems like it would be even cheaper. I wonder where that cost came from.
I would estimate their construction cost is closer to $100k CAD than $40k. Maybe somewhere in the middle. Construction costs can be very high for a tiny home, which is what these are. They are built on a trailer.
