So unless you are a fragile piece of human, choose the right one.
The most handy truck I had doing construction when I was a kid was out Mazda B2200 with the Perkins diesel. It’d go forever on no fuel and was perfect for grabbing a few tools for a quick run to a job site.

My grandfather swore B2000s were the only truck one would need. That’s all he owned after his Courier truck. He use to joke with his son he needed the 4x4 on his 90 F150 to keep up his his 2wd Mazda in the bush.
I owned a 4x4 85 Ranger then and it was great for what I needed. These days my 2000 F150 seems like a Ranger of yesteryear when parked next to modern pickups that are so large.
