The Algerian boxer at the centre of a gender row at the Paris Olympics has filed a legal complaint saying she has been a victim of online harassment.

Imane Khelif’s lawyer Nabil Boudi said the complaint was filed with the Paris Prosecutor’s Office on Friday.

On Saturday, the gold-winning boxer said: “All that is being said about me on social media is immoral. I want to change the minds of people around the world.”

      Wouldnt be surprised.

Equally, wouldnt be surprised at them being behind that Turkish shooter who didnt use the special glasses.
Even though: it was a pairs event and he had a partner(who was using the glasses) and he wasnt the only person not using them.

He did nothing other than get a silver medal with his partner. But my suspicion is that he’s being used as s dog whistle meme. Because its a White-passing guy not using special gear, often being contrasted against an asian woman who is using special glasses.

Eh, you’re overanalyzing it. He became meme over his vibes, nothing to discredit the righteous winner.

I think both can be true. I’ve seen some shitty posts using him too; although you are correct that the main impetus was his casual AF vibe

            a White-passing guy

Not sure what that means. He looked like a pretty typical Turkish person. His skin isn’t even especially pale.

Turks aren’t Arabs. He’s as “white-passing” as Erdogan.
