Did not know this. Rishi and Cruella are also immigrants and keep going on about locking up immigrants.

Is there some kind of psychology at play here? This can’t be a coincidence.

Pretty sure this happens when there are “native” immigrants and a new group tries to come in. The delusion that racists will see them as two different kinds of immigrant and not treat them both the same shitty way.

So they pile up on the new arrivals out of fear the actual native population will start resenting them as well if they don’t, without realizing they never didn’t resent them in the first place. Brown people are brown people. There isn’t a racist in the world who cares if one of them has been a citizen for a decade and speaks the language fluently.

yeah, my dad was an immigrant, and said a surprising amount of the immigrant commuity has a “pull up the drawbridge” mentality.
they’re still probably in a minority of a minority though - but loud like other self obsessed arseholes.

creating a perception of competition for work, or status or whatever, as a zero sum game is the same as the fearmongering that the racists try to use to get moderate working class peoople on their side.

It was really an absurd sight, when Braverman stood in front of an almost all white party conference and belched out her jingoistic rhetoric.

It’s called pulling up the ladder and more people in all walks of life are guilty of it than you think. Few want to admit they were helped and would rather you believe they pulled themselves up.

In the case of second gen immigrant, former deputy PM and raging thundercunt Dominic Raab it’s a case of being too stupid rather than too evil. I mean, he’s both, but more stupid, in contrast to Braverman. Sunak is neither, he’s just a sociopath with no care to anyone else.

        That’s a bit unkind - he’s looked after his in-laws very well.

I got mine, fuck everyone else. And a wish to appease locals.

I’m not sure about people from their home countries, but I’m a migrant and I don’t really like “my people”. I’m ethnically Russian (even though I’ve never been to Russia) and I don’t want to see more Russians in the UK. Most of them who come here are oligarchs or their relatives and friends, they are obnoxious, pro war and pro Putin, loud and aggressive. Do you really want these people? Yes, there are good Russian people who are trying to flee Putin’s regime, but they rarely have enough resources to get to the UK. They usually get settled in countries closer to Russia, like Georgia and Finland.

You’re not the only one, I used to think I’m the only one that cannot stand my ethnic group but after conversations with others, turns out no one else can either! We judge our own much harsher, and I do not know why.

You get the same thing in the US.

Best I can figure is they immigrated to get away from certain things, but those things followed.

I want to see a study on it.
