“I’m a big fan of yours, but I’m not a big fan of your marketing team,” Bet-David said, praising DeSantis’ leadership during Covid, but calling his book, released earlier this year, a “miss.”

“It was number one in the country for two weeks,” DeSantis said about his book.

“That’s not a long time though,” Bet-David responded.

    LOL

You should read the YouTube comments. His fans sniff his farts the same way they did for trump. Literally saying he saved their lives.

“It was number one in the country for two weeks”

Among those who bought it, or those who actually read it?

I’ve heard it’s not uncommon for the team of the person who wrote them to buy all of them up to get it on the top list and then just gift them/chuck them or store them indefinitely.

Here’s a very good article on this republican practice: https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/474662-the-myth-of-the-conservative-bestseller/

I recall seeing a staged photo of George W. Bush carrying a copy of Bernard Goldberg’s Bias, and thinking the pope shitting in the woods is more likely than W. reading a chapter of any book.

If you look into it you’ll likely find most of the copies were bought in bulk by his campaign, the State of Florida, and a few large donor PACs

This is why “#1 Bestseller” doesn’t mean shit.

Wouldn’t be a surprise; manipulating numbers is just business as usual for them.

I have no idea, I just liked the response about it not being long enough.

That was tongue in cheek; there’s no real way for them to tell the difference.

No big deal; it’s still Monday after all (at least here in the States).
