minus-square@miss_brainfart@lemmy.mllinkfedilink2•edit-22 years agoSo why did my 2011 iMac never receive anything beyond High Sierra? (Edit: was confused about versions, don’t mind me)
minus-squareWrenlinkfedilinkEnglish3•2 years agoYou have an older model than mine, I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro, that may be why
minus-square@miss_brainfart@lemmy.mllinkfedilink4•edit-22 years agoI confused versions and thought there was a bigger gap between High Sierra and Catalina than there actually is, my bad
minus-square@Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilink2•2 years agoCan confirm, my early 2011 MBP still works a dream, but I can’t go past High Sierra. Late 2011 models can. Ah well.
minus-squareLem Jukeslinkfedilink1•2 years agoBecause thats how it works? High Sierra came released six years after you bought that iMac. Old hardware doesn’t support new features and eventually it just can’t keep up. Windows XP only received updates for 7 years.
