I saw the Tesla Robotaxi:

  • Drive into oncoming traffic, getting honked at in the process.
  • Signal a turn and then go straight at a stop sign with turn signal on.
  • Park in a fire lane to drop off the passenger.

And that was in a single 22 minute ride. Not great performance at all.

    No love for them from me, either, but trying to be objective, this honestly doesn’t look any worse than an inexperienced human driver. Not that I’d choose to use it given alternatives, but having been riding with a teenaged student driver recently, this looks like about that same level of stressful.

      It’s almost as if driving is an intense and stressful activity that requires focus and skill, and it is psychotic that the only barrier to entry is a small amount of money.

      @KoboldCoterie @Humanius Student drivers usually learn quickly. Tesla has been developing that thing for years and it’s still struggling with basic driving.
