Donald Trump appeared to offer confirmation that the United States is now participating in Israel’s attack on Iran in a Tuesday social media post.

Amid escalating tensions and the exchange of bombings after Israel attacked Iranian nuclear facilities last week, Trump has faced questions about the extent of U.S. involvement in the conflict.

In a new post on Truth Social using the term “We,” Trump wrote: “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured “stuff.” Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”

Cool how the president can just declare war now with no heads up or permission from Congress with no consequences. The democrats sure have gotten fucking quiet these last several weeks

The last time the US formally declared war was WWII. Presidents, both blue and red, have been taking advantage of the incredibly weak War Powers Act for decades now.

Pretty much this. Multiple generations of war TV have pointed this out. MASH has an episode about it for chrissakes.

Bold of you to assume that Democrats haven’t been getting rich off the industrial-military complex

        • When they speak up

So you can openly admit they’re not even bothering to do the bare minimum of speaking out about this stuff, yet still attack anyone who dares criticize them for the very inaction you referred to yourself?

They are not in a position to do anything. So regardless of the name of the bill or the intention of it, it’s not going to pass. They don’t have the votes. But they do have enough to stop certain things, so let’s look at that-… Oh, I guess fetterman is… conservative now. 😳 Oopsy-poopsy, and, is that, yep Schumer just capitulated at a critical moment in exchange for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Fair enough, so, what about when they held a super majority. I’ll bet it was a blitz of kick ass legisl-… Wait, NOTHING?!? They did NOTHING??? THEY HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPUNGE THE FILIBUSTER PERMANENTLY, FOR FUCKING EVER, AND THEY DID

They could mobilize their base for unending mass demonstration and a general strike. Shut down the country until the fascists capitulate.

They won’t. Instead they’ll side with the regime and criticize protesters for being too violent.

I’m obviously saying that they do speak up and this same type of commentary gets pissed about that too. They (and apparently you too) want Democrats to pull power out of their ass.

            • They (and apparently you too) want Democrats to pull power out of their ass.

Why shouldn’t they? That’s exactly what Republicans are doing. These people specifically ran to represent us and they need to act like it.

It’s totally the fault of the people with no power! Down with the powerless! Down with the powerless!

It’s always some agreement up top then they complain about Democrats. No complaint about Republicans there, nor their voters, nor the non voters.

        Nope- just Democrats. Like clockwork.

They aren’t powerless though. The Republicans only have a slim majority. It would currently take only 4 Republicans in either chamber to kill any legislation (so long as no Dems also flipped).

It never seems to be a problem for Republicans to get in the way of legislation when they’re in the minority.

Because one side is full of turncoats. Many Dems are fake Dems and just wanted to get elected but are actually pretty on par with Republican policies. Because money talks.

The people who could be proposing to impeach like they did last time but are now not? We have even more cause now.
