You probably will be familiar with his face if you have seen any of the somewhat older samurai movies. Probably better known in Asia than outside of it though.

It’s a long movie, but I highly recommend Seven Samurai.
Fucking great film. Recommend Throne of Blood too if you’ve not seen it.
I’d recommend so many Mifune films. High and Low, Yojimbo (the movie that Leone copied almost shot for shot), or the Samurai Trilogy. Just a few of his 100+ movies he made. Mifune is one of the greatest actors to ever live.
he’s arguably the biggest Japanese film actor of all time. It would have been a big deal to japanese people.
Fun fact: I never ever even heard the name Toshiro Mifune.
I just can’t… why do people wear ignorance as a badge of honor nowadays?
You do not need them, yes, but I think it’s always fun to recognize people in games like Like a Dragon.
That aside, it’s always been a thing in Onimusha. It wouldn’t be a proper revival of the IP without one of their biggest USP.
